HPE Aruba Networking vs HPE Juniper Networking: Picking Your Primary Enterprise Platform

Yes. HPE completed its acquisition of Juniper Networks in July 2025, so both HPE Aruba Networking and HPE Juniper Networking are part of one HPE networking portfolio. HPE has said it will keep both brands, invest in both lines through at least 2028, and converge the management experience by bringing Aruba Central and Juniper Mist together.

Juniper Mist with Marvis is generally regarded as the stronger AI-native operations engine today, with SLE metrics, conversational troubleshooting, and Marvis Actions for self-driving remediation. Aruba Central provides solid AI Insights and assurance and is absorbing Mist-derived capabilities through HPE's convergence roadmap. If AIOps depth is the priority now, Mist leads; if deployment flexibility and Aruba integration matter more, Central is strong.

ClearPass Policy Manager is an established, feature-rich NAC that enforces policy across multi-vendor wired and wireless estates and integrates with Dynamic Segmentation. Mist Access Assurance is a cloud-native NAC tightly tied to the Mist experience and well suited to Juniper-managed environments. For broad multi-vendor policy and on-prem control, ClearPass is the more mature choice; for a clean cloud-native flow inside Mist, Access Assurance fits.

EdgeConnect comes from the Silver Peak lineage and is known for path conditioning, WAN optimization, and SSE integrations, making it a strong fit for campus and branch WANs. Juniper Session Smart Routing, from the 128 Technology acquisition, takes a tunnel-free, session-aware approach with secure vector routing. Both are capable; the choice often comes down to which operating model and existing footprint you prefer.

HPE has not announced discontinuation of either line. Both Aruba and Juniper hardware received new launches in 2025, and HPE has signaled active dual-platform investment through at least 2028. The stated strategy is convergence of management and AIOps rather than retiring product families, so investing in either line is a safe near-term bet.
